Mesh Networks

Mesh networking is a topic I have been exposed to for several years and yet; I have until now somewhat ignored the topic.  I suspect primarily due to the fact that I have so many other interests.   A friend mentioned the network in Puget Sound to me several weeks ago and then while at Sea-Pac I had an opportunity to listen to Bart Kus, AE7SJ discuss the development of that network.  He has a WIKI at www.hamwan.org where you can learn more about there process and progress.

Here is a great video from http://hsmm-mesh.org/ where they introduce mesh networks and discuss using the WRT54G router to create mesh networks in the Ham bands.

I watched this last night and became even more interested.  Below are two PDF’s of some presentation slides discussing the networks.
